On 6 February 2026, Yingke Malaysia successfully hosted a roundtable on “AI Applications in Malaysian Industry” at its Kuala Lumpur office. The meeting brought together a delegation from China Mobile International and a number of Malaysian business leaders for an in-depth discussion of how AI is being put to use in industrial manufacturing, energy management and corporate digital upgrading.

The meeting was attended by a China Mobile International delegation led by Dr. Yang Guang, Head of the Intelligent Computing Center. The Malaysian representatives included Martin Ang, President of MCMTC and Director of Julie’s Biscuit; Callum Chen, Managing Director and Honorary President of LH PLUS; Mag Ng, Secretary-General of MCMTC; Cliff Teo, Vice President of Cape EMS; Lau Bik Soon, Group CEO of RedTone Bhd; Ms Yew Peng Fong, representing SRKK; Manohar Menon, Group CTO, and Fahredza Muhamad, General Manager, of Privasia Berhad; Ts Sharifah Zaida, CEO and Director of MMC Engineering; Ms Lee Pang, Vice President, and Karen, Secretary-General, of MCMTC; and others. Alvin Leong, Financial Digital Transformation Manager at Shell Group, was also invited to join the exchange.

Against the backdrop of global industrial restructuring and accelerating technological change, we are living in China’s industrial “Age of Discovery”. China Mobile said at the meeting that China’s 5G technology is highly mature and deployed at scale, while AI has been the core technology engine developing rapidly over the past two years. Built on the combination of “5G + AI”, China has formed a complete application system in industrial automation, smart manufacturing and corporate digitalisation. Malaysia can follow this technology path to use China’s technology in step with China itself, speeding up local industrial efficiency and upgrading local talent. Representatives of Malaysian companies also expressed high regard for China’s AI capabilities, and look forward to building a locally based AI application ecosystem that is “affordable, deployable and sustainable”, one that genuinely supports local business development.

As organiser of the meeting, Yingke Malaysia has always held to its mission of integrating law and business: “compliance first, building commercial trust”. At the meeting point of technology going global and industrial upgrading, truly sustainable cooperation must rest on a clear regulatory path, a well-structured commercial design and long-term trust mechanisms. Technology can be deployed quickly, but structure and trust determine how far cooperation can go. In the context of China’s industrial “Age of Discovery”, we believe AI is not only a technology issue but a new engine for industrial upgrading and regional collaboration. Yingke Malaysia will continue to act as a bridge and a structural designer, promoting steadier, more sustainable and deeper cooperation between Chinese technology and Malaysian industry, and taking part in and witnessing the growth of Malaysia’s AI ecosystem.
