Linking China and the World, Sharing Business Opportunities | IN GLOBAL Legal & Business Alliance Delegation Completes Its Study Tour of Yunnan’s Key Specialty Industries

An in-depth study tour linking industries in China and abroad

Yingke Malaysia Office  |  29 July 2026

On 20 July, the first “Going Out · Bringing In: Connecting China and the World, Opening a New Era of Growth” Overseas Expansion Summit and the launch ceremony of the IN GLOBAL Legal & Business Alliance concluded successfully in Kunming. Two major plaques drew attention at the event: the “Natural Flavour and Fragrance Industry Development Promotion Center” and the “Demonstration Base for International Cooperation in the Cultural Tourism Industry” were formally unveiled. This not only marks both industries’ formal entry into the Alliance’s priority incubation tracks, but also set the stage for the in-depth study tour that followed.

From 21 to 22 July, Yingke Malaysia supported the Alliance in organising a delegation of chamber of commerce representatives and entrepreneurs from Bangladesh, Laos, Malaysia and other countries, setting out on an in-depth study tour spanning trade, agricultural technology and the integration of culture and tourism. From the policy exchange at Kunming Luosiwan International Trade City, to the industry-chain visit at the Liangwang Mountain rosemary base, to the cultural tourism benchmark at Taiping Lake in Mile, every step wrote a chapter in the two-way journey of “going out” and “bringing in”.

Stop 1

Policy Support Opening New Trade Opportunities

On the morning of 21 July, the delegation’s first stop was Kunming Luosiwan International Trade City. As the largest trade distribution hub in southwest China, Luosiwan has more than 3 million square metres of operating space covering dozens of categories, including clothing, daily necessities, Chinese medicinal herbs and small commodities, with goods reaching many countries and regions across South Asia, Southeast Asia and the Middle East. Its distinctive “market procurement trade” model gives small and medium-sized enterprises a low-cost, efficient export channel. The delegation focused on the main market hall and the Chinese herbal medicine zone. Yunnan is known as the “kingdom of medicinal herbs”, and genuine regional herbs such as notoginseng, gastrodia and paris are renowned overseas. The wide range of products in the herbal zone kept the foreign guests lingering, and representatives from several countries showed keen interest in importing Chinese medicinal materials, seeing a natural fit with South Asia’s traditional medicine systems.

China–Foreign Enterprise Investment Matchmaking and Trade Meeting

The delegation then moved to the Kunming Market Procurement Trade Comprehensive Service Center for a site visit, and took part in the 2026 China–Foreign Enterprise Investment Matchmaking and Trade Meeting, “Linking China and the World, Sharing Business Opportunities”, hosted by the Guandu District Bureau of Commerce and Investment Promotion.

At the meeting, guests watched promotional films on investment attraction in Guandu District and on Luosiwan Trade City, getting a direct sense of the district’s location advantages and industrial vitality. Long Aitao, Director of the Guandu District Bureau of Commerce and Investment Promotion, gave a detailed introduction to the district’s foreign trade development and supporting policies. As one of the core districts of Kunming’s main urban area, Guandu is home to three major transport hubs, Kunming Changshui International Airport, Kunming Railway Station and Kunming South Railway Station, and serves as a “gateway” to South and Southeast Asia. In recent years the district has introduced a series of foreign trade support policies, offering special subsidies under the market procurement trade model for customs declaration and inspection, logistics and transport, and warehouse rental, effectively lowering the threshold for businesses going overseas. These favourable policies drew strong interest from the overseas guests, and both sides held in-depth talks on practical cooperation such as matching bilateral supply and demand.

Stop 2

A Panorama of the Natural Flavour and Fragrance Industry Chain, from Planting to Deep Processing

The Liangwang Mountain base sits at an altitude of about 2,200 metres, with abundant sunshine and a large day-night temperature difference, making it a prime growing area for rosemary and Mohong roses. On the afternoon of 21 July, the delegation visited the standardised rosemary planting area and the Mohong rose planting area in turn. The base manager explained that rosemary is rich in active ingredients such as carnosic acid and rosmarinic acid and is widely used in food preservation, cosmetics and medicine, while the Mohong rose is known for its high anthocyanin content and is a premium raw material for high-end essential oils and flower tea. From field management and standardised planting to essential oil extraction and the development of natural antioxidant products, the company has built a complete full-chain conversion model.

Natural Flavour and Fragrance Industry Chain Survey and International Cooperation Business Meeting

The delegation then went to the Science and Technology Achievement Incubation Center of the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, toured its advanced research facilities and results exhibits, and held the “Natural Flavour and Fragrance Industry Chain Survey and International Cooperation Business Meeting”. At the meeting, a representative of Kunming Fuyiyunnan Biotechnology Co., Ltd. gave a detailed account of the company’s strategic layout along the rosemary industry chain: drawing on Yunnan’s exceptional seed sources and climate, the company has built a standardised planting base of thousands of mu and established a long-term industry-university-research partnership with the Provincial Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and is pushing hard to move from exporting primary raw materials toward high-value essential oils, cosmetic ingredients and food additives. Both sides held productive talks on matching exports of the natural flavour and fragrance industry chain to Southeast Asian markets and on supply chain cooperation.

Stop 3

Ecological Restoration Meets Cultural Tourism: A New Model for International Cooperation

On 22 July, the delegation’s third stop was Mile City in Honghe Prefecture, where it visited the Taiping Lake International Eco-Tourism Resort, known as “a new cultural tourism landmark of Yunnan”. The resort is built around the core idea of “ecological restoration plus cultural tourism integration” and has won honours such as “National AAAA Tourist Attraction” and “Yunnan Provincial Ecological Civilisation Education Base”. The delegation toured the forest cabins, caravan hotel, Beigui coffee barn, mountain rocky-desertification park, lakeside restaurant, Taiping Lake International Conference Center and other attractions. Each stop showed Taiping Lake’s innovative practice in ecological restoration, cultural tourism integration and rural revitalisation.

China–Foreign Roundtable on the Cultural Tourism Industry

The delegation held a roundtable at the Taiping Lake International Conference Center. Wang Yunchuan, Director of the Human Resources Center of Yunnan Jicheng Holding Group Co., Ltd.; Chen Siting, General Manager of Yunnan Taiping Lake Investment & Development Co., Ltd.; Hou Zhipeng, Deputy General Manager; and Zhang Ye, Administration Manager, warmly received the delegation. They gave a detailed account of Taiping Lake’s journey from rocky-desertification control to a national-level tourist resort and shared the development philosophy of “ecology first, culture empowering, industries linked”. Taiping Lake’s experience drew keen interest from the foreign guests, who hope to bring in operating and management experience from China’s distinctive cultural tourism sector and jointly develop premium bilateral tourism routes. Both sides also explored in depth a range of integration models such as “cultural tourism plus agriculture”, “cultural tourism plus wellness” and “cultural tourism plus study tours”.

Gift Exchange

A Gift of Friendship: Bangladesh–China Ties Made Tangible

One warm and solemn moment of the series of events stood out. Mr. Masud Ali Khan, founder of Bangladesh’s M3 Group and Vice President of the Bangladesh–China Business and Industry Association, presented a meaningful keepsake to the IN GLOBAL Legal & Business Alliance on behalf of the Bangladeshi delegation. The gift carries the deep friendship between Bangladesh and China and symbolises the firm resolve of the two countries’ business communities to advance together.

In presenting the gift, Masud Ali Khan said that the friendship between Bangladesh and China goes back a long way and that economic and trade cooperation is growing ever closer. Attending the first Overseas Expansion Summit and visiting Yunnan’s industries in person gave him a deep sense of the openness and sincerity of Chinese enterprises. He hopes to use the Alliance as a bridge to bring about more practical cooperation between Bangladeshi and Chinese companies in trade, investment, industrial park construction and other fields.

Yang Jingjing, Chairman of the Council of the IN GLOBAL Legal & Business Alliance, accepted the gift on behalf of the Alliance and said that it was not only a congratulation on the Alliance’s founding but also a good wish for the prospects of bilateral cooperation. The Alliance will take this as an opportunity to keep deepening its ties with all sectors in Bangladesh and to build a more efficient and convenient cooperation platform for Chinese and Bangladeshi enterprises.

One gift links two countries; one handshake opens endless possibilities. This was not merely a courtesy exchange, but a vivid footnote to China–Bangladesh economic and trade cooperation moving from vision to action.

Closing

Going Out, to Bring In Better

From the trade policy exchange at Luosiwan, to the in-depth industry-chain visit at Liangwang Mountain, to the cultural tourism benchmark at Taiping Lake — the two-day programme was tightly packed and rewarding, with gains at every stop and an echo from every exchange.

This tour was not only a fresh look at the Chinese market for the foreign guests, but also a collective showcase of Yunnan enterprises to South and Southeast Asia. As one foreign guest put it at the roundtable: “What we saw was not only Yunnan’s resources, but also Yunnan’s sincerity and efficiency.”

Going out is for the sake of bringing in better. The IN GLOBAL Legal & Business Alliance is building a bridge for two-way traffic between Chinese and foreign enterprises, and on the other side of that bridge lies a future of endless possibilities.
